After several setbacks, NASA was finally able to complete the wet dress rehearsal for Artemis I on June 23rd. One month later, NASA announced a potential launch window for the rocket based on this success.

Artemis I is set to be the first launch of the new program to send astronauts back to the Moon. The wet dress rehearsal is considered the final stage before launch and is a crucial step for addressing issues and making sure all personnel understands their jobs on launch day.

Artemis I failed the first several attempts at the wet dress rehearsal due to a hydrogen leak in the core stage’s engine cooling system. The leak issue was resolved, allowing the team to complete a successful wet dress rehearsal last month. NASA is currently working on the problems discovered during initial attempts, which the agency plans to have fully repaired and ready to go before launch.

NASA has now announced that Artemis I will launch no earlier than August 29th. The August launch window is only open for two hours in the morning starting at 8:33 a.m. EDT. Two other launch windows have been proposed for the same week, including September 2nd and 5th. These three dates represent the earliest times that Artemis I can be ready for launch and are dependent on the status of repairs and weather.
